Exceptional Learning Program classes allow high-potential students to delve deeply into their areas of interest. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and enhance young students' knowledge in a variety of domains.
There is no other place in Orange County offering such conceptually advanced classes for young students. All teachers are experts in their fields and have previous experience working with advanced learners.
All classes will meet once per week.
ELP classes are provided by The Bentley Center, where support is offered to cultivate the strengths and talents of gifted and twice-exceptional (2e) children.
Gayle Bentley
Director of The Exceptional Learning Program
Gayle Bentley is a doctoral candidate at Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education and the mother of three gifted sons. She has taught as a public school teacher since 1999. She regularly presents at gifted and 2e conferences around the country and has recently published a book for young parents, Using Picture Books to Help Little Ones Learn About Themselves.
She began The Exceptional Learning Program to serve gifted students in Orange County. Young students have few opportunities to experience high-level, accelerated classes, yet this is what gifted students need to thrive! Gayle’s oldest son began college at 13, so she truly understands the need for gifted and profoundly gifted students to have advanced experiences in science, math, business, and art. She looks forward to providing additional classes soon.
